FLEXJET OWNERS ENJOY THE EXCITEMENT OF DEAUVILLE’S AUGUST YEARLING SALE

Each year in mid-August, the elite bloodstock community gathers in Deauville, France, to trade some of the world’s most exceptional young racehorses. With Flexjet the official partner of the Arqana August Yearling Sale for a second year, we were delighted to help commemorate some of the headline-making transactions, in addition to inviting our aircraft Owners to experience the excitement of this prestigious event.

Set against the backdrop of the Normandy coastline, the sale took place from 18th to 20th August, in the Arqana Elie de Brignac complex, adjacent to the famous Deauville-La Touques racecourse. Deauville is a beautiful place to visit at any time of year (read more here), but over the August sale weekend, the seaside town buzzes with glamour and anticipation.

Excitement in the ring

The sale action unfolded over the three days in the early evenings, with 283 exceptional yearlings going through the ring this year, for a total sale value of a record €57 million.

Demand was strong, with young racehorses each changing hands for large six-figure sums, and the most sought-after for much more, including a top price of €2.4 million for an eagerly awaited lot – a half-sister to renowned Group 1 champions Bucanero Fuerte and Wooded.

Each day, buyers of lots of $500,000 or more were presented with a magnum of champagne by our team in the Flexjet-sponsored bar.

Visitors to the sale included major international bloodstock owners and buyers who had travelled to Deauville from all over Europe, Australia, the United States, Japan and the Middle East.

A ringside seat for Flexjet Owners

From the opening night champagne reception to expert insights during the sales, to tickets to the racing at Deauville-La Touques, to hosted dinners with our team in some of Deauville’s exceptional restaurants – it was certainly a weekend to remember.

Extraordinary travel experiences

This wonderful occasion was matched by a memorable travel experience for our Owners, who flew in and out of Deauville-Normandie Airport (LFRG) on the European Flexjet fleet featuring the Praetor 600 and Gulfstream G650. Our Sikorsky S-76 super-midsize helicopter can also fly direct to Deauville from London or other locations in southern England.
