FLEXJET RETURNS TO ROYAL ASCOT IN WINNING STYLE
June 29, 2024
Last week and for the third consecutive year, Flexjet was thrilled to play a key part in one of the true highlights of the British sporting and society calendar, Royal Ascot.
In our role as the event’s Official Private Aviation Supplier, we welcomed many hundreds of elite racegoers through the doors of the event’s official heliport over the five-day race meeting – the most prestigious in the world and renowned for its explosive flat racing, long-standing royal traditions and unmatched sartorial elegance.
We were also delighted to host a multitude of international Flexjet aircraft Owners, clients and guests, over several days of VIP hospitality.
Inside the exclusive Flexjet heliport
As official hosts of the Royal Ascot Heliport, adjacent to the racecourse, the Flexjet team received and welcomed all helicopter passengers in and out of the event. There were over 400 helicopter arrivals and departures over the five days, including our own Flexjet helicopter fleet featuring the Sikorsky S-76.
In the heliport’s stylishly appointed lounge, passengers enjoyed warm Red Label-style hospitality from our team, including our highly trained Flexjet Cabin Servers.
After arriving or ahead of a departure, they were able to enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne and other refreshments, and to make use of the stylish vanity stations for final adjustments to hats and outfits. The heliport’s spectacular ‘Secret Garden’ style design included lush foliage walls and a long run of floor-to-ceiling windows to showcase the heady excitement of arriving at Royal Ascot by helicopter.
High-stakes action & high-class hospitality
Luxury car transfers were waiting to make the short transfer between the heliport and racetrack and hospitality venues, including the Royal Enclosure. There Flexjet Owners and guests were hosted by our team for an exceptional lunch and prime vantage of the daily Royal Procession – which to the crowds’ delight featured King Charles II on several of the days – before watching the action unfold on the track.
A feast of world-class flat races took place in glorious sunshine each afternoon – a total of 36 across the five days, with the exceptional performances and drama that Royal Ascot never fails to deliver.
One of the major highlights saw Kyprios, ridden by Ryan Moore, reclaim the pivotal Gold Cup after an injury-prone season in 2023 – a triumphant return to top form and only the third ever winner of the race in non-consecutive years. The win also cemented the leading trainer award for Aidan O’Brien, ending the week on 91 career victories; and the crowning of Moore as leading jockey for an eleventh time, surpassing Frankie Dettori as the most successful still riding at Royal Ascot.
Topped & tailed by exceptional travel
Such a special occasion was beautifully framed by a memorable travel experience. As the only private aviation operator to offer a fully-integrated fixed wing and rotary operation, Flexjet flew international Owners in and out of London for the event on our private jet fleet – which in Europe includes the Praetor 600 and Gulfstream G650 – along with seamless private helicopter transfers into the Flexjet Royal Ascot heliport – saving up to two hours of driving time from central London.
