ELITE ALPINE ESCAPES, WITH FLEXJET

January 12, 2022

Winter in Europe offers a dazzling array of possibilities for extraordinary alpine escapes.

Whether for skiing, other snow sports or just to relax and recharge, we’ve curated some seasonal Flexjet Owner favourites to consider for your next memorable mountain experience.

 Courchevel, France

A firm winter favourite with Flexjet Owners, Courchevel combines world-class skiing; exceptional hospitality; and over 100 designer boutiques.

The full name of the exclusive French resort is Courchevel 1850, due to its high-altitude location and this gives it an especially long season, often into April. Skiers are spoilt for choice with a multitude of slopes and excellent lift systems; and families are attracted by a wide range of winter activities, such as hot air ballooning, sledding and pony rides.

What’s more, since the resort is home to 15 of France’s 50 five-star hotels along with a Michelin-starred dining scene, you can expect the après ski experience to be every bit as memorable.

While Courchevel does have its own private airport (Courchevel Altiport), most private jets cannot land there due to the short runway and steep approach. Flexjet Owners usually fly into Chambery Airport (CMF), and from there it is just a short transfer to Courchevel by road or helicopter.

St Moritz, Switzerland

With a stylish and traditional sporting pedigree like no other, St Moritz is often regarded as the most elegant and exclusive winter destination in Europe.

The resort provides a whole host of prestigious sporting and lifestyle amenities, cradled in Switzerland’s spectacular Engadin Valley. There are several ski areas within easy reach, including excellent off-piste opportunities, and the world-famous Cresta Run.

St Moritz is also home to one of Europe’s most elite events – the iconic and unique Snow Polo World Cup, contested on the frozen lake. The event attracts an international crowd each January and Flexjet is delighted to be a sponsor for the first time in 2022.

Naturally there are plenty of attractions beyond winter sport, with world-class hotels including Flexjet official partner The Kulm, along with award-winning restaurants, glamorous nightspots, and chic shopping.

To complete the picture, Flexjet Owners can fly into Samedan Airport (SMV), a dedicated private jet airport, practically on the doorstep.

Verbier, Switzerland

Those looking for high-octane glamour both on and off the piste, make tracks for Verbier. Breathtaking scenery and a lively nightlife scene draw a lively and discerning clientele from all over the world.

The Swiss alpine resort is the major gateway to the 4 Vallées ski area, offering a huge variety of novice and expert runs, in addition to backcountry and Nordic trails.

The après ski here is very much of the party variety, with a range of exclusive VIP clubs and bars including outposts of exclusive nightspots in New York and London – many of which are just a slide away from the slopes.

With the dedicated private jet airport of Sion (SIR) within easy reach, Flexjet Owners flying to Verbier can make every minute count.

Lech, Austria

More understated than some of the glitzier European resorts, Lech has a refined and well-established charm – ideal for a discreet escape, but with every luxury amenity close at hand.

The Austrian village is tiny compared to many other ski towns, but it boasts the highest density of award-winning restaurants in the world. A range of five-star, family-run hotels offer the epitome of alpine hospitality, behind traditional farmhouse facades.

When it comes to the powder, the expansive White Ring area (which also covers nearby Zurs and Zug) is famed for its excellent snowfall and a new, speedy cable car system makes it effortless to explore.

Flexjet Owners heading for Lech usually fly into Innsbruck (INN), followed by a 1.5 hour drive or a short helicopter transfer to reach the slopes.

Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy

Known as the Queen of the Dolomites, Cortina has been a popular, high-society mountain destination since the 1950s. The area was brought under the international spotlight when it hosted the 1956 Winter Olympics, and it is set to do the same again in 2026.

Cortina’s timeless glamour continues to attract an elite international audience including many artists and actors, since it is often used as a filming location. It is part of the vast Dolomiti Superski area, connecting skiers and riders to over 700 miles of slopes.

Surrounded by the towering UNESCO heritage mountains and carved into the valley of the Boite river, the town itself is the epitome of a classic Italian luxury lifestyle, with Grand Hotels, elegant restaurants and designer boutiques lining the central Corso Italia.

Most Flexjet Owners reach Cortina d’Ampezzo via Venice Treviso Airport (TSF), with Venice Marco Polo (VCE) just a little further away.
