Our exclusive 2023 Flexjet events calendar for European aircraft Owners took off in high style last weekend, with many joining us in St. Moritz for the truly spectacular and unique Snow Polo World Cup.
With Flexjet an official event partner and headline sponsor of one of the competing polo teams, we were delighted to offer the best seats in the house at the polo field – the only one in the world formed on a frozen lake – alongside dedicated, exquisite hospitality from our team, over the three-day event.
HIGH DRAMA ON THE POLO FIELD
The annual Snow Polo World Cup brings together some of the world’s top polo players and ponies, with Team Flexjet this year featuring Daniel Deistler, Patrick Maleitzke, Clément Delfosse and Patrick Paillol. Fighting hard and playing with passion and commitment in all their matches, their fast-flowing style provided plenty of thrills and drama for the capacity crowd of over 25,000, who enjoyed the glittering spectacle under blue skies and sparkling sunshine.
With three, entralling fixtures each day, the action culminated in a nail-biting final on the Sunday, between Team Azerbaijan Land of Fire and Team St. Moritz. The pressure was on for titleholders Azerbaijan Land of Fire to deliver the goods for a second year, and they were on full power from the first throw in. But as the match unfolded there was little to divide the two teams, with the score drawn at the end of the fourth chukka and extra time needed for only the second occasion in the tournament’s history.
Finally, despite valiant efforts from Team St. Moritz, Adrian Laplacette Jr of the Azerbaijan team converted a penalty in the golden goal period to claim the Trophy for the second year running.
WARM HOSPITALITY, FLEXJET STYLE
While the sparkling sunshine tempered the freezing temperatures outside, the atmosphere in the VIP tent was warmer still, with Flexjet’s European team on hand to welcome guests with champagne, coffee, and a delicious lunch paired with fine wines.
At the end of a busy day at the polo, jet Owners and guests were able to enjoy some exceptional rest and relaxation at Flexjet partner hotels, The Kulm and The Grand Hotel Kronenhof. Then, after the sun went down, they were invited join our team and the Flexjet polo players for private, curated dinners in some of St. Moritz’s most exclusive venues, including the famous nightspot Dracula, caviar house Glattfelder, and the official Snow Polo World Cup gala dinner.
FLOWN TO THE HEART OF THE ACTION
Flexjet’s luxury European fleet featuring the super-midsize Praetor 600 and ultra-long-range Gulfstream G650 was certainly kept busy over the course of the event.
