THRILLS & SPILLS FOR FLEXJET OWNERS IN ST. MORITZ

European Owners were wrapped up in the warmest of Flexjet welcomes over the last weekend in January, for the long-awaited and spectacular 37th Snow Polo World Cup in St. Moritz. 

With Flexjet the event’s official aviation sponsor and partner, Owners and their guests were invited to enjoy a ringside view of the polo field (the only one in the world formed on a frozen lake); combined with exquisite hospitality; and all cradled in the snow-capped Engadine valley, high in the Swiss Alps. The recipe for a truly memorable and showstopping weekend, hosted by the Flexjet European team. 

EXCITEMENT ON THE FIELD 

There was certainly no shortage of gripping, world-class action on the lake for the 22,000 sold-out crowd, who enjoyed glorious sunshine over the three days. Six polo teams competed for the first time this year (instead of the usual four), comprised of prominent polo players and horses from around the world.  

The players included tournament habitues from the USA, UK, France, Azerbaijan and of course Switzerland, with locals Tito Gaudenzi and Luca Meier proving popular with the crowd. All eyes were on 10-goaler Sapo Caset from Argentina, currently one of the world’s top players, and he did not disappoint. 

The teams competed in a series of games, culminating in a thrilling final on the Sunday afternoon between teams Clinique La Prairie and Azerbaijan Land of Fire. The latter shut down their rivals from the outset in a fast, accurate and athletic display to claim their first Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz title with a score of 6-2½. 

RED LABEL-STYLE HOSPITALITY  

Alongside the on-field action, the Flexjet team were delighted to host Owners and guests in the VIP hospitality tent and grandstand, from where they were able to watch the game while enjoying free-flowing Perrier-Jouët champagne and a leisurely, gourmet lunch.  

This Red Label-style hospitality extended throughout the weekend, with Owners recharged and relaxed by a stay at Flexjet partner hotels The Kulm and The Grand Hotel Kronenhof, followed by hosted dining with the team at some of St Moritz’s most prestigious restaurants, including The Snow Polo Gala Dinner at Badrutt’s Palace.

 Such a special occasion was topped and tailed by an exclusive travel experience on the Flexjet European fleet, including the midsize Legacy 500 and super-midsize Praetor 600.  

With dedicated private airport Samedan (SMV) just minutes from St. Moritz, Owners flew in and out with seamless ease, making every moment count in a weekend to remember.
