WHICH PRIVATE JETS CAN CARRY PETS?
The aircraft types in Flexjet’s European fleet, the super-midsize Praetor 600 and the ultra-long-range Gulfstream G650, can each carry pets, and are spacious and well-designed for these needs. Features in both aircraft include flat floors, best-in-class noise reduction, low pressurised cabin altitudes and turbulence-reduction technology – making for an exceptionally comfortable experience.
A Flexjet Cabin Server is present on every flight on our European fleet, ready to take the greatest care of all passengers, four-legged or otherwise.
WHICH TYPES OF PETS CAN FLY ON PRIVATE FLIGHTS?
Most pets on Flexjet flights are dogs and cats, but we can also carry other types of animal, depending on the route and subject to approval from the relevant authorities.
We recommend allowing extra planning time for flights with more unusual animals, allowing our expert team to undertake all the necessary checks and guide aircraft Owners through the requirements for their specific route and circumstances.
HOW MANY PETS CAN FLY ON A PRIVATE JET?
For most flights on our European fleet, multiple dogs and cats can fly in the cabin with their owners – up to four in total on our Praetor 600s and six on our Gulfstream G650s. For larger dogs weighing over 8kgs, the maximum is three. These limits do not apply to medical support or service animals.
Pets must be restrained for taxi, take-off and landing using a harness (with a lead of up to 1.2m in length), on a lap for smaller dogs, or in a secured carrier. However, they can move freely in the cabin for the rest of the time, enjoying the close contact and comfort of their owner.
WHAT REQUIREMENTS OR APPROVALS ARE NEEDED FOR PRIVATE FLIGHTS WITH PETS?
The Flexjet Owner Services team will guide you through the requirements for your pet flight and we’d advise allowing more planning time than usual - but the process is generally quite straightforward. A valid pet passport or a health certificate will be required according to the route, and your pet must be microchipped and have proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination. Dogs usually also need proof of recent tapeworm treatment by a vet.
For some international flights, including those between the UK and the EU, flights with pets must enter via a designated and approved port of entry. This can occasionally mean using a different airport to the closest one or stopping en route for clearance before proceeding.
For some global routes, for example flights into the UAE, additional applications or pre-approval are required, our Owner Services team will advise you of the relevant process and timings when you schedule a flight.

- While new sights, sounds and smells can be exciting, we’d recommend bringing a favourite blanket or other comfort item onboard - in addition to the required lead, harness or carrier.
- Every pet is an individual, so tell us about their specific needs and we’d be delighted to do anything we can to make their experience as enjoyable as possible. We can provide special treats, toys and other comforts to make each journey feel like an extension of home.
- Make sure pets are healthy and well-rested ahead of the flight, with a light meal and drink a couple of hours beforehand.
- Take your dog(s) for a walk ahead of the flight and upon landing – most airports have a designated area.
Our safety consideration also extends to Owners with animal allergies so rest assured that between flights, every Flexjet cabin is deep cleaned, including the removal of all traces of previous pet travel. When you step aboard – with or without pets - you'll be welcomed into a spotless and stylish cabin, with peace of mind.
