ROYAL ASCOT – LOCATION: ASCOT RACECOURSE – BERKSHIRE, ENGLAND
Simply put, it’s “like nowhere else.” A significant highlight on the British social calendar since its founding by Queen Anne in 1711, the annual equestrian trials, which occur each June, remain a sophisticated amalgam of posh tradition, fashion, class distinction, and, of course, sport.
Royal Ascot now heralds a new era for Europe’s most revered race meetings following King Charles III’s spectacular coronation earlier this spring. As the event’s Official Private Aviation Supplier, Flexjet is delighted to be playing our part by hosting the official event heliport adjacent to the racecourse and providing Red Label-style hospitality for our Owners and guests in the Royal Enclosure.
Queen Elizabeth II was famously a lifelong devotee of horse racing and a highly successful breeder and owner, with 24 winning horses at Royal Ascot across six decades. Royal Ascot became synonymous with Her late Majesty, who delighted the crowds with her unswerving commitment to the event, attending every year of her reign until her health prevented it.
This year, in honor of her considerable legacy, Royal Ascot has announced that a prestigious £1 million race on the last day, previously known as The Platinum Jubilee Stakes, will now be known as The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes – the first time a race at the Royal Meeting has carried her name.
Especially significant for this year – Flexjet will be showcasing our new Sikorsky S-76 helicopter at Royal Ascot, where we will once again be hosting the official event heliport adjacent to the racecourse.
At the heliport, the Flexjet team will offer Red Label style hospitality to all guests arriving at Royal Ascot by helicopter. PALIO DI SIENA – LOCATION: COMUNE DI SIENA – TUSCANY, ITALY
If you are looking for something a bit more passionate and stirring, you would be hard-pressed to find any other descriptors for one of history’s most significant sporting spectacles.
Aptly described as the ‘soul of the city,’ Palio di Siena is one of the world’s oldest horse races and one of the most enthralling scenes in all of sport. With its origins dating back to the 17th century, this exhilarating tradition sees ten horses and bareback jockeys –each representing one of Siena’s Contradas (districts) – ride three laps around the Piazza del Campo. The annual renewal of culture, community, and competition is an all-encompassing celebration of Europe’s finest equestrian relics.
On the eve of the Palio, lively Contrada dinners are held across Siena, as the city celebrates this most vibrant and emotional of historic occasions.
Flexjet will be hosting an exclusive dinner and champagne reception overlooking one of the famed Contrada dinner celebrations. Guests will be invited to dine at the 15th century Palazzo de’ Vecchi, accompanied by customary Italian folk music, in addition to an overview from experts on the Palio and its rich history.
On the day of the race guests will be hosted in an apartment that looks directly onto the start line with perfect views of the pre-race negotiations and race start. The historic apartment has 6 windows, each window which will provide space for 4 – 5 guests to comfortably view the race. After the race guests will be driven 20 minutes outside of Siena to Villa di Geggiano which offers breath-taking views of Siena for what promises to be a most memorable dinner.
